On October 14th, 2007, Callie Bishop glowed with joy as she was crowned Miss Wyoming Teen USA 2008. Native of Casper, she is also a fifth generation Wyomingite and feels blessed to have the opportunity to represent her state in the upcoming national pageant.
"I think this will be an experience of a lifetime!" exclaimed Callie to her mom and dad right after her first briefing as Miss Wyoming Teen USA 2008.
The seventeen-year-old is a current senior at Kelly Walsh High School & a BOCES student at Casper College; education has always been a very important aspect in her life. Callie says after her high school spring graduation, she plans on attending the University of Wyoming with an emphasis in Pre Med. and a minor in modern dance. She loves the balance of science, structure, and creativity.
In her spare time, Callie enjoys taking palates and yoga classes, reading anything in reach, and spending time with her supportive family. Although, she has always had a place in her heart for the performing arts, dance especially. Callie has been a competitive ballet, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical and contemporary dancer for the past eight years and has been studying dance most of her life. She is proud to have held several regional dance titles as well as compete at the national level.
"The stage is where I belong. I want to show other girls and boys that they can be confident and accomplish their goals on whatever stage is in their life, as long as they work hard and know what they're doing is the right thing." says Callie.
Even though she just received her title, she cannot wait to begin on her adventure as Miss Wyoming Teen USA 2008. She hopes to one day make a difference beyond the borders of Wyoming.
"I never imagined having an opportunity like this, and now that I do, I want to work as hard as possible to accomplish my personal goals as well as improving the lives of others who are in need."
